When people first hear about multi-level marketing, or MLM, they think it sounds pretty straightforward.
You join and quickly build your downline, then they do the same – everyone sells a few things and you receive great commissions. There’s no such beast as an easy business that does not require work. Multi level marketing (MLM) is one of those business ventures that is a lot more complicated than it seems. However, if you can do what you need to do to be a success in business, you can be a success in multi-level marketing. MLM is an extremely popular IM business to try your hand with on the net.

Ok – you should show your downline what needs to be done, but do not do it for them. Naturally, they need to be able to do for themselves so they can teach the people they recruit. Your downline will never succeed if they can’t do for themselves, and you’ll be forever recruiting new people – until you decide to quit. Your downline will follow your example if you lead and teach well. If you fail to do that, you might as well just be an affiliate marketer in any business. Teach them to survive because that’s what a good recruiter is supposed to do.
You should treat this as you would treat any other business venture. It will help you a lot to work with your recruiter, and devise a business and marketing plan of attack. If you can do that plus write down daily goals, then you’ll accomplish much more and have more focus. Hold yourself to your deadlines, and make your goals achievable and realistic. Never allow yourself to get lazy and miss your targets because it can become contagious and a habit. You have to work hard every day until you succeed.
Be available to the people you sponsor and recruit to be a part of your down line. People will do less for you and the business if no one shows they care to help them. If you’re not there to provide help and support, your downline will naturally not want to make money for you. The more available you are and the more supportive you are of your team the harder they will work for you. Not hard, just talk to them, write to them via email, etc. Be a good boss and your business will thrive!
Remember this: MLM’s and pyramid schemes are two different things.
But it’s true that there are some similarities. The main difference is, of course, that MLM is a legitimate business structure. Here’s the thing, so many people join MLM’s because they think they can earn money without doing any work. The real trick to making money through MLM, though, is to do a lot of work! You’ll find that the more you contribute to your success, the more success you’ll have.
